Carbon Reduction Plan

Supplier: Herd Energy Developments Ltd

Publication date: 01/03/2025

Herd Energy Developments Ltd has not previously assessed or reported emissions, therefore this document serves as both the baseline and current year.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets. Due to the business being a relatively new entity with few emissions, we expect increases through 2025 & 2026 due to increased commercial activity, although decisions will be made with careful consideration towards carbon emissions. We will try to mitigate through choosing suppliers and products based on their credentials and relevant engagement towards carbon emissions in their own processes.

Likewise Herd Energy will strive to reduce unnecessary travel and expenditure, or choose options with lower carbon emissions.

The business will continue to use electric vehicles and the business premises has 5.78kWp of Solar PV modules installed, alongside 13.5kWh of battery storage capability, which mitigates consuming a net figure of approximately 5000kWhs / 1035.37 tCO2e annually..

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 6757.15 tCO2e by 2030. This is a reduction of 6%

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

This carbon reduction plan forms the initial baseline from which future initiatives will be formed. As previously stated the business has started from a basis of low carbon emissions, due to electric vehicle use and Solar PV generation contributing to our Scope 2 emissions.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as use of electric vehicles and other low carbon transport in the fleet, business mileage and upstream/downstream distribution.
